Forced Labour Policy
Purpose
10DAYS is a Certified B Corporation—committed to people, planet, and purpose. Because progress is impossible without change. This reflects our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility at every stage of our production chain. It not only aligns with our dedication to creating long lasting, eco-friendly products but reinforces our pledge to foster a transparent and inclusive environment for all involved.
We are committed to conducting business in a way that respects human rights and promotes fair and dignified work. This policy sets out our zero-tolerance position on any form of forced, bonded, indentured, or involuntary labour within our operations or supply chain.
Scope
This policy applies to:
-
All employees, contractors, and consultants of 10DAYS;
-
All suppliers, agents, factories, and subcontractors who produce or provide materials, goods, or services for 10DAYS;
-
Any other business partners or intermediaries acting on behalf of 10DAYS.
Our Commitment
10DAYS strictly prohibits all forms of forced or compulsory labour, including but not limited to:
-
Work or service exacted under threat, coercion, or penalty;
-
Bonded or debt labour;
-
Prison labour that violates international labour standards;
-
Human trafficking or recruitment through deception, abuse of vulnerability, or withholding of identity papers;
-
Retention of deposits, wages, or personal documents as a condition of employment.
All workers must be employed voluntarily and have the freedom to leave employment upon reasonable notice.
Legal and Ethical Framework
Our approach is guided by:
-
The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights;
-
The B Corp Declaration of Interdependence;
-
The GOTS Social criteria (directly aligned with ILO Conventions 29 and 105)
Supplier Responsibilities
All suppliers must:
-
Comply with this policy and the 10DAYS Supplier Code of Conduct;
-
Maintain transparent recruitment and employment practices;
-
Ensure that no fees are charged to workers for obtaining employment;
-
Allow workers free access to their personal identification documents;
-
Keep accurate records of working hours, contracts, and wages;
-
Enable independent audits and worker interviews when requested.
Suppliers must also ensure that their own subcontractors and labour agents comply with these standards.
Due Diligence and Monitoring
10DAYS will:
-
Conduct social and ethical assessments of key suppliers;
-
Engage in continuous dialogue with suppliers to improve labour practices;
-
Require corrective action where risks or violations are identified;
-
Terminate business relationships where suppliers fail to address serious or repeated non-compliance.
We are committed to working collaboratively with suppliers to build capacity and prevent forced labour through awareness and long-term partnerships.
Reporting and Remediation
Any employee, worker, or third party may report concerns about forced labour confidentially and without fear of retaliation via grievance@10days.nl.
10DAYS will investigate all reports promptly and fairly. Where forced labour is identified, we will take immediate steps to protect affected workers and provide remediation in partnership with local experts or NGOs, prioritising the worker’s safety and wellbeing.
Continuous Improvement
We recognise that addressing forced labour risks require ongoing vigilance, transparency, and collaboration. 10DAYS will:
-
Review and update this policy at least every two years;
-
Publish progress as part of our B Corp and sustainability reporting;
-
Encourage a culture of ethical awareness and shared responsibility across our value chain.
