COPENHAGEN | DENMARK
Just 1 hour and 15 minutes away from Amsterdam, Copenhagen is our go-to place whenever we need a change of scenery to get some fresh fuel to reset our minds. This city feels like a second home. The buildings, the bikes, the narrow streets, the lifestyle and its people. It has so many similarities with Amsterdam but at the same time… always unexpected.
Copenhagen never ceases to surprise us. Through the years, Copenhagen has managed to become (and stay) one of the cities that set the path for trends in design, sustainability, architecture, and gastronomy. Just a quick visit there fuels our creativity and fills our mind with new ideas. And yes… we must confess… the food plays a big part when it comes to why we love this Danish capital so much. Enjoy its delicious food in one of the many great restaurants and hotspots of this Nordic city.
"The buildings, the bikes, the narrow streets, the lifestyle of its people. It all reminds us of our hometown Amsterdam"
With so many cool places to go it’s really difficult to pick only three favourites, but let’s start with these three…(definitely to be continued)…including the hotel we love to stay during our visits:
The beautifully designed boutique Hotel SP34 is located in Copenhagen's vibrant Latin Quarter. The minimalistic, characteristically Scandinavian design infuses the hotel with understated elegance.
But that’s not all… SP34 offers great organic food at a choice of their three restaurants. Also take a moment to enjoy the roof terrace.
This award-winning restaurant in the Nansengade neighborhood gives you the ultimate modern Nordic feeling. Think: blond wood, white and brick walls, Scandinavian design, simplicity, lots of plants, and not to forget their delicious unexpected Scandinavian cuisine. On the menu, you will find many (seasonal) vegetables, Nordic ingredients, and smoked food ... yummnumnum
Paté Paté is one of the oldest restaurants in the Copenhagen Meatpacking district.
This spacious and relaxed restaurant is located in a former pâté factory and is known for its bistro-style cuisine, rustic charm and down to earth spirit.
Evenings here are filled with Danish "Hygge" and good music.
